Less than 2 months to go!
Highly regarded worldwide and one of Western Australia's iconic events, the Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island. Whether competing as a solo, duo or team, the Rottnest Channel Swim is a 'team' event with all swimmers surrounded by a support network of paddlers, boat skippers and crew. The event, managed by the Rottnest Channel Swim Association, is held in February of each year and is Rottnest Island's biggest day.
Solo Qualifying Swim

If you've signed up for a solo in the 2019 Event, that's awesome! You've just got one more step in order to qualify!

Under the current Event rules, you must have either completed a ratified solo crossing within the previous two years (2017 and 2018), or completed a 10km qualifying swim between 1 November 2018 and 1 February 2019.

If you haven't successfully completed a solo crossing in the past two years, local swimmers are encouraged to qualify by entering one of the 10km open water swimming events happening over the Summer. For a list of qualifying swim events, you can visit our website here.

If you're located interstate or internationally, we have alternative events listed If you don't have an event available to you, please contact the RCSA Office via email on and we can let you know your options.

Please note, you must complete a qualifying swim in under 4 hours and 15 minutes to qualify. After the completion of your qualifying swim you will need to log back into your and update your qualifying information in your registration prior to 1 February 2019
