Sharing is caring - Tandem Solos |
|
|
The option of tandem solos was introduced as part of the 2016 Event and is a great way to complete a solo if it will be your first crossing (two swimmers and only one boat!). It is designed for solo's who regularly train together, so to ensure both swimmers have a successful crossing, we have strict procedures in place outlined in our 2017 Event Rules (see Rule 13).
If you would like to register to swim as a tandem solo in the 2017 Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim, you must include the full name of the person you will be swimming with and register during solo week in the 'Tandem Solo' category.

Swim for a cause - Lavan Legal Charity Challenge |
|
|
Lavan Legal is very proud to support the Rottnest Channel Swim Association and to be the long term host of the Lavan Legal Charity Challenge, a cornerstone event in the annual Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim.
Lavan Legal invites you to 'swim for a cause' by competing as a team of four in the Lavan Legal Charity Challenge and, at the same time, help to raise much needed funds for charities like the Starlight Children's Foundation.
The contest to secure one of the 50 team places in the Lavan Legal Charity Challenge is always competitive. This year, the first 30 places will be available for registration on a first-in first-served basis during solo week, from 8.00am (AWST) Monday, 24 October to 5.30pm (AWST) Sunday, 30 October 2016.
The remaining 20 places will be auctioned after the close of registrations from 8.00am (AWST) Monday, 7 November to 12.00pm (AWST) Friday, 11 November 2016. Bidding forms will be available on our website and any amount you bid over the registration fee will be donated to charity.

T-shirt Design Competition Winner! |
|
|
The RCSA is proud to reveal the 2017 T-shirt Design Competition winner!
This year we added an extra challenge, asking designers to incorporate the new 'RCSA swimmer' into their design in the most creative and exciting way.
Zoe Wolski, a local graphic designer, did just that. She explains her design as, "…inspired by Aboriginal dot paintings, to create a visually stunning image that showed respect to their craft, culture and history.”
Later the design was submitted to Contemporary Aboriginal artist and designer, Jilalga Murray from Jilalga Designs who worked with Zoe to authenticate the artistry and pay respect to Rottnest's history. Jilalga also saw it as, "…a good example of reconciliation. The two designs would meet, for the wider benefit of the community and the event.”
We love Zoe and Jilalga's design and hope you do too!
The 2017 Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim t-shirts will be available via the registration system.
