2016 Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim
Highly regarded worldwide and one of Western Australia's iconic events, the Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island. Whether competing as a solo, duo or team, the Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim is a 'team' event with all swimmers surrounded by a support network of paddlers, boat skippers and crew. The event, managed by the Rottnest Channel Swim Association, is held in February of each year and is Rottnest Island's biggest day.
Champions of the Channel has moved to Saturday!

Have you heard the news? Your favourite swimming event just got even bigger!

Our new event, Champions of the Channel (CotC), will be now be held on the same day as the 2016 Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim. Champions of the Channel swimmers will depart Cottesloe Beach in one wave at 5.45am.

With the new date change, the Rottnest Channel Swim Association (RCSA) invites gun swimmers who are registered in the Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim to express their interest in moving to the CotC event. For experienced duos and teams, this is an amazing opportunity to swim in the first wave of Australia's largest open water swimming event!

Registrations for CotC close Sunday, 20 December 2015 so make sure to jump in before you miss the boat!

For more information on CotC qualifications, prizes, and key times for the event, please visit the official website www.championsofthechannel.com.au, email admin@rottnestchannelswim.com.au or call the RCSA office on (08) 9389 4080.

New paddler course available!

Would you love for a family member or friend to be your paddler, but you're not sure they have the skills? Not to worry… Canoeing WA (CWA) has got your back!

CWA is holding a new course that is specifically designed for new or inexperienced paddlers who want to support you in the Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim. It will be held on Sunday, 31 January 2016 and the morning session will run through the basics of paddle strokes, tips and what to expect on event day.

The session will cost $40 and will run for 4 hours (start time TBC). If you are interested, please register your EOI by emailing info@rottnestchannelswim.com.au. Paddlers are required to bring their own equipment to the session.

Rotto Swim Support Crew Info Night

On Wednesday, 20 January 2016, the RCSA will be holding a free Support Crew Info Night. This event has been designed for first time skippers and support crew who are looking for some insight into what to expect on swim day, and some tips and tricks to ensure a safe and successful crossing. Of course, if you have supported the event before, you are still welcome to attend!

There will be representatives from Fremantle Sailing Club, Fremantle Volunteers Sea Rescue Group and Department of Transport (Marine Safety), as well as stories from experienced Rotto Swim paddlers and skippers.

There will also be an opportunity for support boats to receive a 'stem to stern' boat inspection in the Fremantle Sailing Club carpark for a $10 donation to the Fremantle Volunteer Sea Rescue Group. If you are interested in booking a boat inspection or attending the info night, please register your EOI by emailing Natalie

Want the best vantage point on event day? How about the Fuel Jetty pens?

The Rottnest Island Chamber of Commerce (RICC) is selling the Fuel Jetty pens for the Rotto Swim weekend from Friday, 26 to Sunday, 28 February 2016. These pens provide a great view of not only the beautiful Rottnest Island, but also the finish line for the Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim and Champions of the Channel.

The pens are $1,000 each for the weekend period and numbers are limited. Access restrictions apply, so please contact the RICC by emailing admin@ricc.org.au for bookings and more information.

Make sure your skipper's name is printed!

We all know that our skippers play a big part on event day, and to thank them why not have their name published in the 2016 yearbook?

The RCSA uses the information you entered in your registration. So, if your skipper has changed, please make sure you update this through your My Event account which can be located on our FAQ page  by Sunday, 3 January 2016.

Additional merchandise available
